Yale New Haven Health in Connecticut is the sixth largest hospital in the nation. And according to CDC data, Connecticut has the sixth-highest rate of opioid-involved overdose deaths in the nation.
The emergency department (ED) is a 24/7/365 operation and at Yale New Haven Hospital, the Adult ED sees as many as 300 patients a day, and two-thirds of those are at off hours. It’s clear that fast, efficient access to patient prescription data is critical for the hospital’s team of clinicians, especially in the emergency department where patients often present unresponsive or symptomatic of overdose.
Yale New Haven turned to Appriss Health to integrate the state prescription drug monitoring program and advanced analytics into the electronic health records system, dramatically improving response times and patient care.
